Robbie says: “I was born and grew up in Barnstaple. I care deeply about this area and would love to contribute to its success as the next MP for North Devon. “North Devon is often lost and forgotten in Westminster and I want to correct this. I am determined to put us back on the map and get a fairer deal for our ailing public services.”
Robbie Mack was selected from a choice of 4 local candidates, and replaces Ricky Knight, who has withdrawn from this role, to be able to spend more time with his family.
Ricky Knight says: “We are delighted to announce Robbie as our new candidate for North Devon. His drive and dedication to community campaigning will prove invaluable as we look forward to local elections next May, and a General Election that could happen at any time.”
Robbie Mack, a community activist who trained as a chef, went to Park School in Barnstaple added, “I am thrilled to have been selected by my fellow members. It will not be an easy job but consecutive Governments have failed North Devon. “In politics, you can’t offer many guarantees, but I can offer one. If elected, I will work tirelessly for the people of North Devon, to improve their lives and for all of our futures.”
Jonathan Bartley has pledged his support for Robbie as the candidate for North Devon and has highlighted the importance of getting Greens elected, at the parliamentary level and in local councils. He added, “It’s clear North Devon wants changes and getting more Greens onto councils could change everything – for the better."
The North Devon Green Party Committee could not be happier with the selection and we are very excited to see what dynamic new changes Robbie will bring to our local party.
