Thanks to a motion proposed by Green Party councillors, Barnstaple Town Council has called for electoral reform and the introduction of proportional representation.
The council also expressed concern about the government's Elections Act which requires voter photo ID at polling stations. The act will apply at the next local election in May 2023.
It's time for a modern and fair electoral system not voter suppression.
